Membrane Hydrophore Tanks – ZBOS / ZBOL – Internally Coated
ZBOS (vertical) and ZBOL (horizontal) membrane pressure tanks are designed for storing water used to supply residential and utility buildings from private water sources for domestic or industrial purposes. When paired with self-priming or submersible pumps, they form complete hydropneumatic systems. Inside each tank is a bag-style membrane made of EPDM rubber. The tanks are protected against corrosion with a coating, and both the interior and exterior are powder-coated. The flexible membrane separates the water and air systems, eliminating the need for continuous air replenishment during operation. The top head of the tank is equipped with a pressure gauge, air vent, and a handle for easy positioning of the tank.
Advantages of ZBOS and ZBOL Tanks:
- Interior and exterior powder-coated finish,
- Maintenance-free (no need to refill the air cushion),
- Quick and easy installation,
- Longer tank lifespan (water is contained within the membrane),
- Pump can be installed directly on ZBOL-type tanks.

All Hydrophor Tanks of the Type
ZBOS / ZBOL / ZBOS 10 bar
are also coated on the inside. This provide additional protection for the tank, extending lifespan as well as that of the membrane.

Galvanized hydrofor tank
- Made of steel coated with a layer of zinc (protection against corrosion)
- No membrane – water is in direct contact with air
- Air and water mix inside
- In practice, this means that the air gradually dissolves in the water and needs to be replenished
Diaphragm (membrane) hydrofor tank
- Contains a rubber membrane (bladder) inside
- Water is separated from the air
- Air is located between the tank wall and the membrane. Thanks to this, the pressure is more stable and the air does not escape into the water
